Detonate one-day music festival returns for another banger
It’s no surprise that pre-tickets have already sold out for the Midlands’ most successful all-day rave.
What, listen to the best acts in drum and bass, jungle, house and garage in a gorgeous setting with the sun on your back and a cocktail in your hand. Sign me up please.
The 15,000 fans of drum & bass, jungle, garage, and house who’ve been partying at Detonate for nearly 20 years have nothing but love for this one-day festival. One of the country’s favourite electronic festivals consistently showcases the best music talent in the country and beyond.

This year more than 60 class acts from the international electronic scene will be banging tunes at Colwick Park and we are here for it.
New acts are being announced weekly: Chase and Status are headlining with Wilkinson, A Little Sound, Sammy Virji and Vibe Chemistry also on the bill. It’s a great place to spot up and coming talent as well as the big names in the here and now. Previous years have seen Stormzy, Bugzy Malone amongst others.
The setting is as much a draw as the music. Amid the grounds of the stately Colwick Park Detonate has five brilliant stages, a big red circus top and chill zones nestled around the lakes and tucked beneath the trees. Stand out sets play deep in the woodlands after sundown while, the best stage, the flower filled pontoon shimmers in the middle of the actual lake. Watching DJs pull by boat on the floating stage as the sun sets is pretty magical.
Food and drinks stands are scattered throughout the site and finale fireworks close the night with a flourish.
The presale tickets have been and gone, but there are still some general release up for grabs. Don’t sleep on this, they won’t hang around for long.

How to get there
The nearest train station is Nottingham. The best way to get to and from the venue from the city centre is Red 44 or Red 50 buses.
Where to eat
There’s global street food with vegan options as well as cocktails and drinks on site. In previous years all sales have been via a pre-paid wristband; check with the venue for this year’s arrangements.
Accessibility
The land is woodland, lakes and has some uneven ground. There are some paths but much of the festival is on grass. There will be raised viewing areas at some stages. There’s limited accessible parking too: email info@detonate1.co.uk to reserve one.
