Malton has been dubbed ‘Yorkshire’s Food Capital’ so where better to visit to experience Malton Food Lovers?
Only 17 miles north (or a 25 minute train journey) of the stunning historic city of York, this great festival weekend of local markets, crafters, and artisan vendors, it’s the perfect day out for anyone wanting to experience a truly authentic English market festival.
This event is a perfect excursion from a weekend away in York, and is great for couples, friends, and larger groups, giving you a short break from the bustling city life and breath of fresh country air.
Can’t make May? Don’t worry, this festival will be back late August for another weekend filled with great produce and crafts!
These events are often very busy! Make sure to bring some snacks and water whilst walking round the market. Lunch time will be the busiest for the food vendors, try grabbing a bite late morning and after lunch instead to avoid the queues.

We recommend staying here at the Ibis York Centre
By train: Malton station has great links to the neighbouring city of York which in turn has excellent links to London, Manchester, Birmingham and into Scotland.
By road: The local roads are likely to be extremely busy and parking may be very difficult to find. Using public transport is recommended.
