More information
The town of Malton is nestled just to the south of the stunning Yorkshire Moors and is the Food Capital of Yorkshire, making it the perfect place for a bank holiday food festival taking over the entire town!
Support local businesses and enjoy delicious foods
Malton Food Lovers Festival is all about Yorkshire’s best and tastiest produce, from bakeries to breweries, and fishmongers to coffee shops. Wander the artisan stalls selling all kinds of delicious pies, wines, and cheeses (make sure to ask for samples!) Top tip: Note down the names of your favourite stalls so you never run out of goodies.
Chef demos and tastings
Join several chefs, producers, and farmers give talks and demonstrations over the weekend covering a range of topics from making, preparing, and of course eating! Guest speakers include David Atherton (Great British Bake Off 2019 winner), Devin Jones (Head Pastry Chef at The Grand, York), and Molly Payne (Masterchef: The Professionals 2023 finalist) alongside a host of local restaurant owners, butchers, and bakers.
Live music and entertainment
There’s plenty of non-food entertainment available too. Follow the picture-worthy Sculpture Trail, take a ride on a vintage carousel at the fun fair, and enjoy the sounds of a brass band and local musicians. Try a truly unique experience and make your own metal rose with MUST Forge in a 40-minute metalworking workshop. Make sure to book your tickets in advance for this as there is limited availability.
Historic Yorkshire town
Malton is full of history and is home to multiple markets and districts just waiting for you to explore. Take Instagram worthy snaps of cobbled streets and bright, hanging shop signs and take a look in the Malton Museum to step back in time to the Roman Empire.
Jump across to York
Only a 30-minute drive, or 35-minute train journey is the historical city of York. Home to the famous Shambles market and the Jorvik Viking Centre, there is plenty of walking to be done to burn off all those delicious treats from Malton Food Lovers. Wander the halls of York Minster and head down into the Crypt or climb your way up to Clifford’s Tower to see the city skyline from the top of a medieval castle.
